Eastside Homeschool PTSA is a cooperative community offering academic enrichment and social support to homeschooling families on the eastern side of Lake Washington. Our member families represent the full spectrum of homeschooling philosophies and practices, from unschooling to participation in school district ALE programs. We welcome families from all cultural and religious backgrounds and we strive to maintain an environment where all students can feel comfortable sharing their unique ideas, beliefs, traditions, interests and talents.
Eastside Homeschool PTSA is a member-run organization. That means that as a cooperative member, you have a voice in what classes, clubs, and social events you’d like to see offered here. It also means that you take responsibility for a small part of the care, maintenance, and growth of our organization. Members participate in planning meetings throughout the year, and are welcome at any time to submit requests for classes or events they would like to see offered, or to submit proposals for events or classes they would like to organize or teach.
For specific information about our policies, see our UPDATING
PTSA stands for Parent Teacher Student Association. Being part of the Washington State PTA allows us to join in a collective effort to make sure children are healthy, safe, and well-educated, while keeping our costs low.
The best way to understand what Eastside Homeschool PTSA has to offer is to schedule a visit. We have a parent receptionist on site who can provide tours, answer questions, and review paperwork with you. Prospective families are welcome to visit anytime classes are in session. To help us provide the best possible visit, we appreciate advance notice. If you are interested in scheduling a visit, please email email@example.com.
During class hours, we have use of Jubilee Reach Center’s eight classrooms– which include an art studio and a computer lab — as well as a large common room for parents and kids to enjoy lunch together. We also enjoy the use of lawn and playground facilities on site. Parents are required to remain on-site while their children are in class, but have the option of signing out their child(ren) to another parent if they need to leave for a portion of the day.
Families sign up for as many or as few classes as they wish. Some families enroll for one class each week and others attend multiple classes on both days. Class enrollment is generally limited to about 12 students, and parents are welcome to sit in on classes if they wish to or if their children need them there for support.
Class tuition is set by the Instructor, usually ranging between $36 and $105 per 6-week session. The class tuition is listed under the class description on our 2017-2018 Class Schedule or on our Class List page. Tuition pay dates and other info about tuition can be found here.
Tuition can be mailed or paid in person.
